Ashleigh Brooke Matcham, age 33, of Clovis, California departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Ashleigh was born on April 11, 1987, in Clovis, California. Although she lost her lifelong battle with asthma and food allergies, Ashleigh’s final act was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donations.
Ashleigh attended Laughlin, Clovis West and Fowler High Schools. She graduated in 2005. She continued with her education and attended Fresno City College, graduated from San Joaquin Valley College and continued her education at University of Phoenix working towards a degree in Business Administration. Ashleigh had a successful career in retail and most recently enjoyed working in a management position at Hot Topic.
She lived a very vibrant life. Art, fashion and music were just a few things that brought her joy and allowed her creativity to shine through. Hiking with her family, spending time around water like the ocean and rivers, concerts and dressing up for Halloween were just a few things that made life exciting and fun for her. Above all, she loved her boys Ethan and Connor. She was so proud of her boys knowing they were growing up to be kind, loving and resilient young men.
If she felt someone was being bullied, she would be the first to come to their aid to intervene without hesitancy. She believed in pet adoption and being an organ donor. She was caring and sensitive, yet strong and unwavering when it came to her principles. You could say Ashleigh was a juxtaposition in many ways. She was a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her two sons, Ethan Wayne Larsen, 13 and Connor James Davis, 5. She is also survived by her mother, Carri Carrillo of Fresno, CA and her brothers, James Jared Matcham of Sanger, CA and David Matcham of Gambrills, MD.
Her maternal grandparents, Oscar and Hope Carrillo of Fresno, CA along with her aunts and uncles Darlene and Jesse Burmeister of San Jose, CA, Jennifer and Dan Conniff of Fresno, CA and Oscar Jr. and Robyn Carrillo of Morgan Hill, CA.
On her paternal side, her aunts and uncles Diana and Mitchell Jimenez of Fowler, CA, Melissa Matcham of Easton, CA, Melinda Jimenez of Fowler, CA, Lucy Matcham of Fowler, CA, and William and Danette Matcham of Eureka, CA and Debbie and Michael Matcham-Ohman of Paso Robles, CA.
She is also survived by 5 nephews and 1 niece along with 17 cousins.
Ashleigh is also deeply missed by her boyfriend, Nathan Strahm and his two daughters Avalyn and Haley Strahm. I must also add that Sir Mack Attack, a rescue chihuahua mix, and her bearded dragon, Remy, will both miss her.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Matcham, her paternal grandparents, Frank and Sophia Matcham and her uncles, Frank (Butch) Matcham III, and Claude Jimenez.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Fowler Cemetery at 8523 S. Fowler Avenue in Fowler, CA.
Immediately following is a Memorial Service and Celebration of Life to be held at Cross City Church at 2777 E. Nees Avenue in Fresno, CA. It will be held in the Children’s Building starting at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.
The family would like to ask that in lieu of flowers that donations may be made in memory of Ashleigh Brooke Matcham by calling the Asthma and Allergy Network at (800) 878-4403.
