Betty E. Appleby was born on January 13, 1925 in Watsonville, Ca. She spent many of her formative years in that area and in a rural area outside of Eugene, Or. She and her family returned to California during her High School years and graduated from Santa Cruz High. Shortly thereafter, her family settled in the Fresno area where she met her soon to be husband, James L. Appleby, whom she married during World War II. They remained married until March of 2015 when her husband, Jim, died of cancer. Betty co-founded Appleby and Company, an Investigative service in California in 1958 along with her husband Jim. The company is still in operation today and continues to be run by family members.
Betty was 96 years old when she passed from heart failure and illnesses related to the onset of early Alzheimer’s.
She was pre-deceased by James L. Appleby, her husband and Linda Susan Appleby, her daughter. She is survived by her eldest daughter, Carol L. Evans and her son, Steven J. Appleby as well as 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on March 4th, 2021. She will be sorely missed and not forgotten.
