Charles Carrell Ford, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, July 14th at St. Agnes Hospital. Chuck was born in Crescent City, California in 1938 to Catherine Carrell Ford and Raymond Ted Ford. Chuck graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956, and worked in the insurance industry in the Central Valley all his life, opening Ford Insurance Agency in 1968. The agency became Ford, Hamilton, Harper in 1978 and he sold it in 1988, but continued to work in the field, most recently as an agent for Barlocker Insurance.
He leaves behind the love of his life, Judy Chiarito Ford, daughters Kimberly Covey, Lisa Ford, Denise Kandarian and Christine Maya, sons-in-law Bill Covey, Michael Kandarian and Morris Maya, and grandchildren Samantha Covey, Cassie, Stephanie and Dylan Kandarian, and Benjamin and Eli Maya. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Ford, his brother, Kenneth Ford, and wife, Patricia, and their children and grandchildren.
Chuck and his family spent many happy years at their cabin at Bass Lake in summer and winter, boating, skiing and enjoying the company of friends and family. He loved to travel, and favorite spots included Las Vegas, Santa Cruz, and Cancun. But perhaps his favorite trip of all was to Italy, with the highlight being a visit to Judy’s hometown of Maschito. Here at home, Chuck and Judy served on committees for the yearly St. Elia Celebration at St. Alphonsus Church and the Miss Fresno County Pageant.
