June grew up in Williams, CA and attended Williams High School where she served as head majorette, played on the softball team, and was a member of Rainbow Girls. She graduated from high school in 1940, and in 1942 she met and fell in love with Francis J. "Frank" Lawler. They were married in August of that year. June and Frank lived in numerous places around the country before finally settling in Fresno, CA in 1961. June raised a daughter and a son and worked as a bookkeeper for both the Fresno Bee and Allied Grape Growers over the years. Frank was a Civil Engineer, and June was active with Engineer's Wives. June enjoyed golfing, playing bingo, playing slot machines, and doting over her two grandsons. She was a staunch S. F. Giants and 49er's fan and a great sports fan in general. June was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be missed by family, friends, and all those who knew her. June was preceded by her brother, Elwin Franke; and her husband, Frank Lawler. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Marvin Scott; her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Cheryl Lawler; and her grandsons, Jason and Brendan Lawler. A Funeral Service will be held at Whitehurst Sullivan Bums & Blair Funeral Home on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. Rememberances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
