Edith Garcia

Edith Garcia passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, February 19, 2016, in Fresno, CA, at the age of 89. Edith was born on August 18, 1926, in Fresno to Guseppi and Zelmira (Franceschini) Bellinghieri.

She graduated from Madera High School in 1944. Edith married Trino Garcia in 1947. They had been married 38 years when he died in 1985.

Edith was a homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Trino; her son Jerry; and her sister, Jean Taylen.

Edith is survived by her son, Tim Garcia and his wife Murlene; her daughter, Pati Soto; grandchildren, Michelle Berumen and her husband Reyes, Christopher Hodges and his wife Michelle, and Nicholas Soto; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Julian Hodges, and Ali, Lily, Zurich Berumen; and many beloved relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Sunday, February 28, 2016, from noon until 4:00 p.m.

A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Monday, February 29, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow the rosary. Internment will be held at St. Peters Cemetery following the church service.
