

Edward, a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend and son of the Lord, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 12, 2013. He was a lifetime resident of Fresno and graduated from Edison High School in 1941. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during WWII from 1943 to 1945. He married his childhood sweetheart Eva Garcia on May 9, 1945. They were married for 66 years. Edward was an upholsterer for Cast of California and then went to work for Globe Weis, Inc. as a sheet metal worker. In his spare time he enjoyed making bird houses and nativity barns. Edward could repair almost anything, if it was broken he would fix it. He was preceded by his wife, Eva; his daughter, Rita Hernandez; and grandchildren, Shannon Archuleta and Jonathan Gomez. Edward is survived by his daughters, Betty Archuleta, Gloria Sandoval, and Paula Archuleta; his sons, Eddie, Peter and Angel Archuleta; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; daughters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He also raised his two great-grandchildren,
Adriana Oliver and Edward Burgoyne.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
