Eileen Clark Jura, aged 103, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2024. She was born the oldest of six children in Fresno on October 8, 1920, to William Patrick and Emma Lorene Martin. Eileen is survived by her sister, Helen Nielsen and sister-in-law Aileen Martin of Fresno, and is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Jim Martin (Teeny), Pat Martin (Aileen), Janice Tiedeman (Joe), and Gerrie Luz.
Eileen was a devoted wife to the late Leigh Marion Clark Sr. and, following his passing, to Peter Jura, both of whom have passed away. She was cherished by her children and their spouses Leigh Clark (Helena), Karyn Clark Mastropoalo (Edward Mastropoalo and Skip Crew), and Loreva Bendure (Norman) as well her late son Patrick Clark. Eileen is also remembered by her stepchildren Randy and Gordon Jura. Eileen leaves behind a legacy through her six grandchildren: Jeff Clark (Julie), Todd Clark, Jennifer Mastropoalo Tookoian (Rob), Brett Mastropoalo (Nicole), Troy Ginsburg (Julie), and Martin Ginsburg (Ellyn). She was adored by her 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews.
Eileen grew up near Huntington Blvd, attending Jackson Elementary school and Roosevelt High School (7th-12th grade). She dedicated 25 years of her life working at Harry Coffee's department store as an office manager, traveled for 11/2 years (she loved best Ireland and Italy), then spent an additional 13 years at Gottschalks as the credit department manager. In addition, Eileen was actively involved in various organizations, including the PTA President of Jackson Elementary and Yosemite Jr. High School, Grace Methodist and Memorial United Methodist churches, American Business Women’s Association (named Woman of the Year in 2017), Italian Catholic Federation, Edison Social Club, and the Red Hats Club, among others. She saw beauty all around her, and particularly liked the Blossom Trail. One of her greatest passions was watching the Giants play baseball, every season she knew the players' names and positions.
Known for her warm spirit and community involvement, Eileen touched the lives of many. Her impact will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and all those who had the honor of knowing her. During the last part of her life, she spent many happy (and humorous) moments with the loving staff at The Windham Senior Living Center and Horizon Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to your favorite charity.
A memorial service to celebrate Eileen's life will be held on February 2, 2024, at 1pm at Memorial United Methodist Church at 1726 Pollasky Ave, Clovis. Condolences may be shared at Stephens and Bean Funeral Home website.
