

Ellie was born in Pasadena, Ca. on December 11, 1928 to Harry and Roxie Sarkisian. She soon moved with her family to Fowler, CA. She graduated from Fowler High School in 1946, and then attended Fresno State College. She majored in Sociology and adored her modern dance classes and performances.
She worked for Twining Labs, the Golden Valley Girl Scout Council, and 20 years as a preschool teacher for Fresno Unified School District. She was the second President of LARCS, a Girl Scout Troop Leader for daughters Susan and Pat, and thoroughly loved the nine years she acted, danced and sang with "The New Wrinkles" Show at Fresno City College. She so loved music, dancing, entertaining family and friends, baking delicious cookies and treats, and was a cherished friend. Above all, Ellie's smile, kindness and warmth were a precious blessing that all who knew her will never forget.
Ellie is survived by her husband John of 60 years; as well as her four children, Susan Bennett-Kahler and her husband Dana, Patricia J. Caire, John and his wife Terese, and David and his wife Vicky; her grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Bennett, and Maria and John Paul Caire, whom she loved very much.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Graveside Service will be Held at Masis Ararat Armenian Cemetery, 250 N. Hughes, Friday, December 20, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at First Congregational Church, 2131 N. Van Ness Blvd. at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to; First Congregational Church of Fresno, St. Agnes Hospice or the Nazareth House.
