

Her family moved to Los Angeles in 1927. Emma graduated from nursing school at Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles and came to Fresno as an intern at Fresno County Hospital. During her internship she met and married her husband, Raymond W. Lambrecht in 1942. After World War II, they returned to the Kerman area where Ray farmed until his death in 1990. Emma worked as a nurse at Fresno County Hospital during the polio epidemic of the 1950s. She then worked for many years as a nurse for Dr. Chaffin and Dr. Carrick in their offices in Kerman.
Emma was also involved in her church and in community service. She was active in church youth groups, taught Sunday School, held leadership roles in church woman's groups, and participated in Bible studies. Community service activities for Emma included Project Leader and Community Leader for the Kerman 4-H Club, leadership positions in the Kerman Garden Club, and conducting food pricing surveys for Farm Bureau. Emma was an active volunteer working at the Kerman Food Bank, as a mentor and reading tutor at Lowell Elementary School in Fresno, and as a hospice relief care taker. She was honored as Volunteer of the Year for her volunteer work in the 1990s.
Emma was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond; grandson, Brant Top- ham; and brother, William Haar.
She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Topham of Sprague River, Or and Loretta Epperson of Kerman; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Emma's life will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church, 187 N. Broadway, Fresno on Friday, March 25, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.
Remembrances may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church.
