

Floyd Knuffke, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 17, 2011, in the presence of his wife, Melba; and two of his children, Terry and Chris. Floyd was a veteran of World War II, proudly serving as a sailor in the United States Navy in the South Pacific. After the war, he continued to serve his country in the U.S. Naval Reserve until 1955.
Until his retirement, Floyd was Sales Manager for Schilling/McCormick. Floyd was a professed member of the Third Order of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and St. Teresa of Avila; he was a Fourth Degree Knight and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus at St. Anthony's; and he was in the Silver Angels of St. Anthony's and the Silver Foxes of Clovis. After retirement he served in various apostolic works, especially as Chief Financial Officer for Catholic Truth International from 1986 - 2000. Floyd and Melba proudly celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, on April 28, 2011.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Melba Knuffke, of Fresno; children, Terry Tolbert of Tacoma, Wa., and Chris Knuffke of Santa Clarita, Ca.; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and two half-sisters, Rosie and Mikie of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Rex.
Visitation will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, on Thursday, June 23, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, on Friday, June 24, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
