

Gregory A. Banks, 71, of Fresno, CA, passed away Thursday August 23,2018. He was born to Fredrick and Rachel Banks on March 17, 1947 in Glendale, CA. "Greg", as most people called him, graduated from California State University Northridge (CSUN) with a chemistry degree.
He is survived by his wife Norma Daliva Banks, 30 years of marriage and they resided in Fresno, CA.
He is also survived by his mother Rachel Banks, brothers, Freddie and David Banks.
He served in the United States Army and spent two years in Vietnam. Greg worked at Ralph's grocery company in the LA area for 22 years and became an assistant manager.
Later, he joined Irenda Corporation, a contract manufacturer of OTC pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, and served as Vice-President. He eventually moved on to build a successful OTC pharmaceutical and cosmetic company, Generitech Corporation, with his wife, Norma, making him the CEO/President. This business has thrived for the last 18 years and continues to do well in the present.
Greg was passionate about building military scale model armor tanks for which he has received numerous awards and sometimes best of show. He was an active member of the military modeler group in Fresno. He has a room dedicated to his hobby, shelves filled with hours of joy assembling these models.
In addition, throughout the years, Greg and Norma shared an interest in having pets such as rabbits and a cat. Although they have never had a dog, he always showed love and interest in dogs owned by other family members. His other interests included computer games and collecting movies.
Greg was always very friendly, outgoing, and made friends quickly wherever he went. This includes restaurants that they frequented, the model club he belonged to, and the church that they attended. Although they never had children, he loved his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church of Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
