Helen Haschak Green

June 14, 1922 – October 10, 2018

Helen joined her husband, C. Y. Green, in the Lord’s presence on October 10, 2018.

Born in Robin’s Ohio to immigrant parents, Andrew and Anna Stropki Haschak from

Czechoslovakia, Helen was one of ten children.

After graduating from high school with honors. She graduated from a private girls’ school in Kansas City, Missouri. She then graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. After moving to California, she taught in Modesto City Schools. It was there that she met her husband, C. Y. Green, who had just returned from the war in China with the 14th Air Force Flying Tigers.

She enrolled at the University of Pacific in Stockton, California and received her Master’s Degree in

The field of psychology. She studied further with Dr. Bruce Kloppfer of Berlin, taking post-Graduate

work.

Helen leaves numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, several of whom entered the fields of Education and health service with her encouragement. She was affiliated Phi Kappa Phi and Pi Lambda Theta. She was active in University Women, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Rotary Wives and Teacher Organizations, including CTA and NEA. She was a member Of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Helen enjoyed music. She played the violin and piano and attended concerts, operas and musicals. She and her late Husband traveled extensively. She enjoyed gardening, backpacking, traveling and dancing. She retired from Fresno City Schools as a psychologist and demonstration teacher after 33 years in the profession.

Privates Services will be Held.
