Passed away in Fresno on June 27, 2012. Ida was born in Omaha, Nebraska along with her twin sister on December 10, 1924. She was a long time resident of San Jose, Ca before moving to Fresno. She was a medical assistant before becoming the assistant to the Dean at San Jose State University. Ida was married to the late Anthony L. Montalbano for 54 years.
Dave and I will miss her feisty attitude and her world famous pineapple upside down cake, fudge and biscotti.
She is survived by her sons, David and his wife Myra Montalbano of Dacula Georgia, Dennis Montalbano of Fresno; sisters Frances Macchietto of Omaha, Lena Rancatore of San Jose; grandchildren, Aimee West of Duncannon Pa, Kelly Moon of Athens Ga, Nicholas Montalbano of Toano Va, Anthony Montalbano of New York and Bryan Montalbano of Fresno; great-grandchild Isaac Montalbano of Toana, Va.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
