Irene Doris Smith

Irene Doris Smith was born on October 24, 1928 in Weatherford, OK to Herman and Edna Reed. She passed away on December 12, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital at the age of 85. She was married to Luther Smith and was the mother to two children, Jeff Smith and Janet Govette.

Irene had worked as a supervisor at a child development center for many years for Fresno Unified. She had also owned Cedar Heights Beauty Salon prior to obtaining her teaching credential. Irene was a gifted artisan receiving several blue ribbons for her work shown at the Fresno Fair. Irene was most proud of her two new great grandchildren.

Irene is survived by her children Jeff and wife Velma, Jan Govette and her husband Tom, two sisters and a sister-in-law and grandchildren Jerod, Jon, Kelley, Jennifer and Erin. Her two great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Funeral Service on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Clovis Methodist Memorial Church on Pollasky at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Clovis Cemetery.
