

Born June 19, 1932, in South Windham, Maine. He settled in Fresno in 1977. Jack was a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He had a successful banking career, retiring as Senior Vice President of Consumer Lending for Coast Savings and Loan.
Jack was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. As the patriarch, his life was centered around his family. He loved bragging about his 62 years of marriage and how fortunate he was to have such wonderful family by his side. He is remembered for his positive attitude, sense of humor and graciously thankful to those around him.
Jack enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, walking 3 miles each day, reading, and barbequing his famous baby back ribs.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; their children, Jack Jr (Jennifer Will) Smithson; Tami (Kenny) Badger; Scott (Sandye) Smithson; Candi Smithson; Susan (Bob Orozco) Smithson, Grandchildren; Cameron (Jessica), Donovan, Jack III, Scott Jr (Bre), Sullivan, Tory (Johnny), Brooke (Garrett); Great Grandchildren; Gavyn, Madison, Archer Jack.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Michaelangelos Italian Restaurant, 619 Woodworth Avenue, Clovis, CA 93612 on November 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm.
