Jean Monini Burton

Jean Jeanette Burton "Monini" passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 7, 2013 at the age of 82. Jean was born June 22, 1931 to Morris and Lorene Leffew. Jean was a strong, independent woman and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She adored her children and worked hard to provide for them throughout her life and always had a smile on her face. She had a captivating personality and embraced everyone as her own family. She was a friend and grandmother to many and never knew a stranger. Jean had a great sense of humor and was feisty to boot! We are grateful to have had such a loving woman in our lives and her legacy will carry on through us forever!

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Burton.

Jean is survived by her sisters, Harlean Ellis and Marilynn Passmore; her son, Bill Powell; and daughters, Janice Simmons and Beverly Petrolis; and her step-son, Richard Burton. Jean leaves behind seven grandchildren, Shawn Powell, Richie Burton, Mandy Burton, Lindsay Noorigian, Eric Powell, Angie Powell, and Andrea Benzler. She also leaves behind six great grandchildren and one on the way.

Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel, on Thursday, July 11, 2013, from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m.

The family would like to invite you to honor Jean's life at Stephens & Bean Chapel, on Friday, July 12, 2013, at 10:00 a.m.
