Mrs. Jennie B. Gomes

She passed away peacefully at home in Fresno, CA on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.

Jennie lived most of her life in Firebaugh, CA where she married Frank W. Gomes on October 28, 1972. Along with Jennie's four children, they had a daughter together, completing their family. Jennie worked as a fruit packer and volunteered at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. She was a friend to all, and loved her family with all her heart.

Jennie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Tony and Adela Brown; siblings, Silvia Barra, Tony Brown, Jr., and Linda Rodriguez; son, Joe Monreal, Jr.; daughter, Melanie Gambell; and her grandson, Matthew Monreal.

Jennie is survived by her husband, Frank W. Gomes; sisters, Lilly Beyelia, Eva Estrada, Helen Madrigal, and Lucy Vera; daughter-in-law, Leana Monreal; son, Mark Monreal and his wife Diane; daughters, Denise Burton and her husband Brian and Mandy Silveira and her husband Bill; grandchildren Jaime Martinez (Cheri), Randal Gambell, Adam Casel, Megan Wetzel (Scott), Lisa van der Merwe (Thinus), Jennie Gambell, Blake Casel, Bryan Casel (Sarah), Emily Degani (Ray), Maria Monreal, Alex Maldonado, Christian Maldonado, Jack Levreau, and Mary Silveira; great-grandchildren, Triston Gambell, Zoe Martinez, Isaiah Gambell, Sariyah Gambell-Ortega, Liam Wetzel and Angelina Wetzel.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
