It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John M. Call, known to many as “Boone,” who passed away peacefully after a long journey with dementia. He is now whole and at peace, resting in the loving presence of the Lord.
John was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado, to Kenneth and Evelyn Call. He is survived by his wife, Angela Call; his son, Joe; his daughter, Mackenzie; and his two sisters, Linda and Jenny Lou. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rex.
John was the definition of a patriot, proudly serving his country in the Vietnam War. He was a devoted husband and loving father, as well as a remarkable and loyal friend with a great sense of humor. His kindness, strength, and presence touched so many lives. John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
Please join us on February 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. for a funeral service at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home, located at 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720, as we gather to honor and celebrate John’s life.
A Bible verse that is bringing us comfort during this time of sorrow:
Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
