John was the cherished son of his late parents, Jimmie L. Gentle and Verla M. Gentle. He and his siblings grew up in a household that taught them to honor and value family and hard work.
John was a proud graduate of high school, and attended some college. He dedicated 30 years of his career as a mechanical supervisor for the railways, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his hard-working nature.
He shared a loving marriage with his late spouse, Barbara Gentle, and together they nurtured a close-knit family. John is survived by his daughter, Kathy Rapavi Gentle. He was also blessed with 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
A man of varied interests, John loved trains and often enjoyed building model train sets. He was a fan of country music, particularly songs by Willie Nelson, and had a fondness for the color blue. Above all, John's family was his greatest treasure, and he was a loving and dedicated family man, always ready to help anyone in need.
John's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their love and support during this difficult time.
