John Kermit Judd passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on November 20, 2024. Born on November 16, 1934, John spent his life embodying the qualities of being selfless, thoughtful, and humble. He was a resident of Fresno, California, where he lived a fulfilling and thoughtful life.
John was a 1952 graduate of Roosevelt High School. After completing his education, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1957 to 1959. During this time, he was stationed in Berlin. Following his honorable military service, John continued his dedication to infrastructure as a heavy equipment operator for CALTRANS.
A man of diverse interests, John enjoyed woodworking, hiking, dancing, and photography. He deeply loved the music from the 1950s, a time he fondly recalled. Of all colors, blue held a special place in his heart, reflective of the peace and kindness with which he approached life.
John's selflessness was exemplified in his ideal vision—that everyone would know Christ as their personal Savior. John's love for his family was boundless; his teachings and stories left a lasting impression, flowing through his loved ones like the gentle ripples on a serene lake.
John's legacy continues through his loving family. He is survived by his partner Ellen Dutton, son John L. Judd, and grandsons John P. Judd and Justice T. Judd. Also cherishing his memory is his sister, Elmyra Haverty.
John is preceded in death by his mother, Neloise Judd, his father, John F. Judd, his brother, Thomas D. Judd, and his nephew, James A. Judd. John will be forever favored in the hearts of all who knew him as a humble and God-fearing man, who was eternally joyful with the laughter from his storied past.
To honor his venerable life, a graveside service will be held for John at Fresno Memorial Gardens, located at 175 S Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA, 93706, on December 5, 2024, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
