Jospeh was born on January 25, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York, to loving parents Joseph and Hilda Mariarossi. Growing up, Joe's parent's instilled in him values of family, love, and being present for those you care about. A loving, funny, and devoted man, Joseph will be remembered for the way he showed up for the people he cared about—fully, faithfully, and with his whole heart.
Joe graduated from high school and went on to build a life defined by hard work and skill. He was a general contractor for 43 years, and there was a steady pride in what he could create with his hands. He loved working on and building things, and that practical talent was matched by an equally strong gift for making people feel at home—whether through a laugh, a story, or simply being present.
Joe and his wife, Brooke Mariarossi, were married for 18 years, but they actually knew each other closer to 43 years—a bond that carried history, friendship, and deep devotion. Family was the center of Joe’s world, and he loved fiercely. His large extended family, filled with “bonus” members, proved it again and again in the way people gathered around him and around each other with the same closeness, warmth, and kind of familiarity he earned over a lifetime of loving others.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Mariarossi, his mother, Hilda Aldebol, his sisters, Aida Mariarossi, Lisaann Mariarossi, and Lucy Michael, and his brother, Michael Mariarossi.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Brooke Mariarossi. He is also survived by his children, Joseph, Anthony, Shawn, Codi, Tailor, David, Stephen, and Sandra; his grandchildren, Jana, Joseph, Anthony, Alexzander, Victoria-Leigh, Nicholas, Shyann, and Kash; and his great-grandchild (on the way!), Athena. He is also survived by his siblings Rebecca, Billy, Candy, and Crystal, as well as a host of other friends and family who will all miss him dearly.
In quieter moments and in the everyday joys, Joe found happiness in the things that made life feel full: spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and playing World of Warcraft. His favorite color was blue, and his playlists leaned into country music and rock and roll—soundtracks for a man who could be both steady and spirited, and both hardworking and lighthearted.
Joseph’s family would also like to extend their most sincere thanks to anyone who has offered their love and support during this difficult time.
