Keith Carter Nikkel

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Keith Carter Nikkel who left us far too soon on September 3, 2025. Born on November 16, 1982 in Bakersfield, CA., Keith was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend whose presence touched everyone who knew him. Keith had a big heart and a generous spirit. He was known for his willingness to help others, and the ability to make people laugh. Above all, he cherished his children, Irie Gypsum and Lyla Jade, who were the light of his life and his greatest joy.

He found happiness in the outdoors, roller skating, his daughters, and through making others happy. His love and laughter will continue to echo in the lives of those who had the honor of knowing him.

Keith is survived by his daughters, Irie Nikkel and Lyla Nikkel; his parents, Valerie Ward, Cecil Ward and Stanley Nikkel; his siblings, Holly Nikkel, Kimberly Odom, Beth O’Rourke, Mayna Gray, and Michael Nikkel. Keith is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rosemarie DeLano and Jerry Freer as well as his paternal grandparents, Clarence Nikkel and Doris Nikkel.

A service to honor his memory will be held on September 27, 2025 at 11:00 am at Lisle Funeral Home in Fresno, CA. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate a life lived with love and compassion.

Though his time with us was far too short, the legacy of his love, laughter, and devotion to his children will live on forever in our hearts.
