Kenneth Michael Petrelli, born July 16th 1951, a lifelong resident of Fresno, California, passed away on Sunday, January 14th 2024, surrounded by his two adoring daughters and loving wife of 49 years.
Kenny, also known as “The Cat,” because he was fabled to have nine lives and always landed on his feet, worked in the construction trade for nearly 50 years. He owned and operated Suburban Construction and Development, which built hundreds of luxury homes throughout the Central Valley and numerous businesses and restaurants across the West Coast. Kenny was loved by his clients and employees because he treated everyone like they were a member of the family. His imprint on the Fresno landscape throughout his career will be part of his legacy that lives on forever.
Kenny had a zest for life and lived every second with an upbeat attitude and a smile that was contagious to all those that had the privilege to know him. He was the King of Favors, if anyone needed anything, they knew all they had to do was ask Kenny and he’d be there to lend a helping hand. A jack of all trades and master craftsman, he had an eye for detail that was unmatched. Kenny was a problem solver extraordinaire and the guy you went to when nobody else had the answer.
Kenny was a loving father of two daughters, Tanice and Ferin, who were his pride and joy and doting husband to his wife Valerie, who he loved unconditionally. Kenny was a man of faith and served as a Eucharistic Minister for the Catholic Diocese of Fresno, at Holy Spirit Church for many years prior to his passing.
Kenny is preceded in death by his father, William Bryant, mother Janet Murphy, and brother, Anthony Petrelli. Kenny is survived by his sisters, Shirley Bryant Cox and Ellen Thomas, his wife, Valerie Petrelli, his youngest daughter, Ferin Petrelli, eldest daughter, Tanice Smith, son-in-law, Michael Smith and his two beautiful grandchildren, Evie and Gunnar Smith. All of which will miss him dearly.
