Many years ago I had the opportunity to work under Dr. Fakuda, both in my early years at Carver Elementary and again mid-years at Gompers Secondary.   She was an amazing mentor, provided great leadership, she was just/fair,  paid attention and showed appreciation---something that is rare among administrators and I have only found in a few (Dr. Arrington--also known as Dr. J, as well as Jacqueline Nevels, etc.).    At Gompers she complimented my work/work ethic and offered to right a letter of recommendation/reference.     My colleagues often talk about how rare it is to come across those kinds of administrators---I feel the school district needs to hone those skills in administrators.    When people feel respected and valued, they tend to go above and beyond, even take heat to defend an administrator--instead of feeling too anxious, frustrated, drained & stressed--even to the point of feeling ill.    She certainly understood that.   Rest in Paradise! Dr. Fakuda.  

Dr Kimiko Fukuda showed me the successful path in life and helped me become the strong person that I am today. I miss you so much and wish you where still with us.  You will always have a special place in my heart.

Going from Elementary to Junior High school is a big adjustment.  I will never forget my first day.  She was my home room teacher and I knew immediately everything was going to be fine.  I will never forget her.

Class, grace, dedication and kindness...I will always remember Dr. Fukuda demonstrating the utmost in professionalism at all times.

My deepest gratitude goes out to Kimiko for nurturing me as her student in Elementary school and later hiring me as a teacher at her Middle school. She led by example and rewarded me with the tools necessary to thrive as a teacher. Each and everyday I am thankful for the hard work Kimiko accustomed me to and the thoughtfulness, kindness and love she showered upon me. May the success of my career be a testament to the success of her life's work. My heartfelt prayers for the progress of Kimiko's dear soul.

I was so sorry to hear about Dr. Fukuda's passing.  She was our Area Sup & our Mentor Principal throughout the years. I admired her for she was a true professional & a class act.  I will always remember her kindness as well.  My heart goes out to her loved ones, you'll be in my thoughts & prayers.

Kimiko was a great friend and mentor. She was a model professional educator who I chose to emulate. She will be missed by many.
