Within the next few years the family relocated to Ridgecrest, CA and the China Lake Naval Weapons Center. Lauri pursued her interest in music at a young age and was involved with orchestra and band. Upon graduation from Burroughs High School she chose to study accounting and entered 4C’s Business College in Fresno. She met her future husband Pat on the day she moved to Fresno and four years later they were married.
Lauri worked for years doing construction accounting for a number of contractor’s while advancing her most avid interest, raising three children Emily, Daniel and Nick. She managed to find time to hone her cooking and gardening skills as well as support her husband’s interest in hot rods. Together they traveled with friends throughout the state and even to Victoria BC in their modified vehicles. Meanwhile she provided constant support to her husband’s small business.
As the children began to have kids of their own, being Grandma became her new “favorite thing” and Lauri dearly loved Colin, Avery, Eli, Elodie and Charley.
All this left little time for a proper vacation so to celebrate fifty years of marriage, the couple recently returned from Hawaii just days before Lauri’s passing.
