Inner strength and the ability to accept and manage any challenge life sent her way were her most admired qualities. She had patience and compassion for all but the arrogant and ill-informed, and she loved to laugh. She was very artistic and, over the years, enjoyed creating pottery pieces and china painting. She loved gatherings with family and friends, camping and reading a good book.
Although she had many work experiences in her life, the most challenging and enjoyable were the years spent at The Fresno Bee. Lillian was the supervisor for telephone sales in the classified ad department. She developed many friendships and wonderful memories during her years there.
We offer a well-deserved thank you to the staff of the New Light Residential Care Home for the gentle and generous care they provided during her stay there.
She was preceded in death by her son John; and her sister, June Wyatt.
Lillian is survived by her sons, Bob and his wife Lillian of Portland, Or., and Tom and his wife Mary of Laguna Niguel, Ca.; sister, Naomi Weaver of Oroville, Ca; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and many long time, loving friends.
Since no services are planned, please make a gift to your favorite charity in Lillian's name.
Arrangements under the direction of Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel, Fresno, CA.
