

Mae was the first daughter of 12 children. She learned about hard work living on the family farm in Amelia, VA.
She moved to San Francisco, CA in 1946, and began her career at Pacific Bell as a telephone operator.
Mae relocated to Fresno in 1952, where she met and married the love of her life, Charles A. Burdue. She continued her career as a Pacific Bell telephone operator. She retired after 30 years of service in 1982.
She was a life member of Telephone Pioneers and a member of the Telephone Pioneers Red Hatters. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Her husband Charles was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
When Charles retired, they traveled cross country in RV's with cousins, Virgil and Georgie Arnett and Chuck and Sarah Dwiggins, stopping to visit family and enjoying many interesting sites along the way.
Mae and Charles enjoyed a few cruises which included the Virgin Islands, Australia, and New Zeland.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Burdue, in 2004.
Mae is survived by her daughters, Linda Myrick of Fresno, Joanne Saitta of Clovis, Evelyn Harris and partner Nan Gwinner of La Crescenta; granddaughters, Kalista Saitta of Orlando, FL and Arianna Myrick-Matheisl and husband Robert; and great-grand son, Mason Myrick-Matheisl, of Fresno.
She will be lovingly remembered by sisters, Virgie Barden, Dot Wade, and Agnes Reames; brothers, David and Oliver Sexton; and many nieces and nephews in Virginia.
Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Friday, April 25, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 11:00 a.m.
