Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Lai Thi Pham, went home to be with the Lord on February 6, 2018. Lai was born on October 15, 1934 in Vietnam. She met and married the love of her life, Mau Nguyen, in May of 1953. Together, they had ten children who all love and adore her. They risked everything and left their homeland in order to provide a better life in America for them and their children.
Lai was a selfless, kind-hearted and loving woman who always had a smile on her face. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Feeding us her home cooked meals was her goal and you could never refuse with all that delicious food placed in front of you. She also loved to knit. Our dad has a collection of sweaters, vests, gloves and socks that were lovingly made by our mom and he wears them often. She had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of her church for many years. Lai is survived by her husband, 10 children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren and their spouses and three great-grandchildren.
To our dear mom, grandma, great-grandma and Dad's loving wife. We will always carry your memory in our hearts. We will miss your warm smile, your infectious laugh, your hugs and Vietnamese kisses, but we will never forget the love that you had shown to each and every one of us. We love you so much!
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Monday, February 12, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of La Vang Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
