Ann Johnson passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025 at the age of 95. Born to Edward and Anna Lieder on December 25, 1929 and graduated from Central Union High School in 1947. She married her best friend’s brother, Douglas Johnson, in 1948 and they were happily married for 73 years. She and Doug lived a marvelous life together raising their children on their homey family farm, where Mary Ann’s warm kitchen was always a treat to visit. They loved to explore the States in their motorhome and took numerous cruises, creating cherished memories. Mary Ann’s nimble fingers were rarely still, whether she was creating intricate porcelain dolls, tending to her vibrant garden, or knitting cozy beanies for her grandchildren. She was loving, talented, courageous, admired, and so much more. Mary Ann and Doug moved to Oakmont of Fresno after selling their ranch in 2022. Shortly thereafter, Doug passed. Mary Ann enjoyed many years at Oakmont where she was loved by many residents and staff members.
She is survived by her three children, John Johnson (Joy), Larry Johnson (Libby), and Linda Day (Bob), as well seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff and residents of Oakmont for their unwavering kindness and compassionate care.
A graveside service for Mary will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 S. Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
