Mike, an avid golfer, was a charter member of the Mexican American Golf Association (MAGA), founded in 1962, in Fresno, CA. He was also a teacher and mentor to many who were just starting the game. As a friend to everyone, many affectionately called him "Uncle Mike". He will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his wife Dorothy; his two sons and their wives, Tony and Rosemary Manjarrez, and David and Michelle Manjarrez; brothers, Robert Perez, Richard Perez, and Rudy Perez; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Sunday, June 15, 2014, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 5:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint John's Cathedral on Monday, June 16, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Saint Peter's Cemetery.
