Mildred Lucille McCoy passed away on Tuesday, January 9th at the age of 80. Mildred was born in Fresno on August 25, 1937 and was a lifelong resident of the Fresno/Clovis area. After graduating from Clovis High School, Mildred would marry Herman T. McCoy and together they would raise three daughters, Eva, Peggy and Lou Ann.
After Herman’s passing in 1978 Mildred would become an employee of Valley Children’s Hospital as a dietary aid to support her family until illness prevented her from working in 1985. In the fall of 1986 Mildred received a liver transplant allowing her life to continue another 31 years.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Eunice Patterson; brothers Harold Patterson and Stan Patterson; and her husband Herman McCoy.
She is survived by her brothers, Charles Patterson and wife Maggie, Ray Patterson and wife Alice, Ed Patterson and wife Connie, and James Patterson; daughters Eva McCoy, Peggy Dunnington and husband Eddie, and Lou Ann Wright and husband David; her grandchildren Sarah and husband Jessie, Allison and husband Robert, Samantha, Jonathon, Micayla and Dawson; her greatgrandchildren Caitlin, Sophia, Nathaniel and Skyler.
Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m.
A Graveside Service will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 10:00am. Following the Graveside Service, a Memorial Service will be held at Lifeway Baptist Church beginning at 11:30am.
