At a young age, her family moved to Manila, Philippines where she attended Adamson University. There, she attained a degree in Chemical Engineering. Soon after graduating, she and her brothers migrated to the United States and resided in San Francisco, California. In the '70s, they moved to Los Angeles, California, and she was accepted to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). On October of1988, Norma and Gregory A. Banks entered matrimony. For 30 years, they lived in Fresno, California.
As a Chemical Engineer, Norma has made many contributions in her field. In 1970, she began her career as an Analytical Chemist and manufactured pharmaceuticals; in 1973, she was appointed as the Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Control/Quality Assurance; and in 1986, she became the Corporate Director of Regulatory Affairs at Iodent Corporation, a subsidiary of Klinge Pharma Germany. From 1987 through 1990, she was a consultant at Cenci Labs Incorporated in Fresno, California, and IOLAB Pharmaceuticals in Claremont, California, and by 1990, she became the Director of Technical and Regulatory Affairs at Cenci Labs Incorporated. In 1994 and 1996, she was the Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Control/Quality Assurance at Packaging Advantage Corporation and Irenda Corporation in Los Angeles, California, respectively. By 1999, she and her husband Greg became the co-founder of Generitech Corporation in Fresno, California.
As a proactive member of her community, Norma engaged in many communal activities. She attended weekly services at St. Anthony Padua Catholic church, co-chaired events for Queen of the Holy Family Guild, and participated in the Fresno Orchid Society. She was loved by her family and friends, and she did not hesitate to accommodate them in their time of need. As such, her generosity and outspoken personality have regarded her as a highly valued member.
Currently, Norma is survived by her brothers Ireneo Daliva, Ruben Daliva, Cesar Daliva, George Daliva, Alexander Daliva, and Ernesto Daliva; her sisters Amy Lilly Caliva and Aurora Daliva; her nieces Ruby Lynn D. Daliva, Edessa Jannin Daliva, Alpha Mendoza Thelen, Kim Alexis Daliva-Perez, Jennifer Alexa Daliva, Ivy Daliva, Tiffany Talledo, and April Joy Daliva; and her nephews Ruben Daliva Jr., Jeffrey Daliva Banks, Daryl Daliva, Jervis Daliva, John George Daliva, Jorsan Daliva, Jason Daliva, Ace Daliva, Jun Jun Caliva, Daniel Caliva, Vernee Caliva, Eric Daliva, Dondy Daliva, and Chris Daliva.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Tuesday April 12, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00-7:00 PM.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic on Wednesday April 13, 2022 at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
