Patricia Sharon Harter was born in December 21, 1946 in Chicago, IL, and passed away on February 22, 2024 in Clovis, CA.
Patricia moved to the Central Valley when she was 19 years old. After many years working at Hanoian’s Market, she began working for the Law Firm of Quinlan, Kershaw and Fanucchi in downtown Fresno as a Paralegal. She was attending law school at San Joaquin College of Law at the time, and graduated in 1995, and passed the bar exam that same year. She worked for Quinlan, Kershaw and Fanucchi as a probate and family law attorney. In 2003, she went to work for the Social Security Administration as a Decision Writer, from which she retired in 2019.
She had many talents and hobbies that she enjoyed. She had a beautiful singing voice, and was a member of the 9:30 church choir at OLPH for many years. She loved musicals, and passed down her love of them to her daughters. She sewed and crocheted, she loved a good puzzle, she enjoyed and was very good at game shows, and loved the Hallmark Channel. She was a member of the Red Hat Society Queen of Hearts chapter for many years. In her retirement years, she volunteered at her parish by preparing the church bulletin.
She loved her family very much, and enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. She loved playing card games and Yahtzee with her family. We are thankful for how much time her grandchildren were able to spend with her in her retirement years.
Patricia was predeceased by her parents, George and Antoinette Jones, and her daughter, Erin Harter. She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Mendes, and her husband Matthew, grandchild, Julian Drake, whom she lovingly raised and adopted, grandchildren Brianna, Samuel, Tobias, Elizabeth, and Timothy Mendes, siblings, Michael, Pamela, David, Kathy, and Johnny, and nieces, Suzanne and Annie.
Visitation for Patricia will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720. A rosary will be held at 6:00 PM.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 929 Harvard Ave, Clovis, CA 93612.
A committal service, following the funeral mass, will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at St Peter's Cemetery, 264 N Blythe Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
