It is with sorrow to announce the passing of Roger Eugene Bachar. Roger was born on February 14, 1942 in Los Angeles, California. He died in Fresno, California on October 31, 2024. Roger was 82 years old when he peacefully passed into heaven.
Roger married the late Lettie Stone and together they had one son, James who predeceased Roger. James married Charlotte Edwards and together they had two children of their own, Joshua and Jonah. Roger received joy when Joshua and his wife Sarah brought their baby daughter Rose to visit her great-grandpa this past year.
Roger married Cecile Bolin on February 27, 2009. Roger gained three step-daughters: Carrie Errecart, Cathy Bose, and Dana Klein. He also gained three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren to his family.
Roger's childhood in Caruthers, California was idyllic. He loved riding his bike around the well-kept and pristine neighborhoods while his mother worked. He and his cousins had many days and holidays of adventures and fond times. In high school, Roger played trumpet for the Caruthers band. After high school graduation, Roger attended Reedley College to pursue an associates degree. His passion was to learn how to work on airplanes. He earned his pilot's license and eventually bought a plane of his own to tinker on. Roger's career with Mid Valley Distributing was very rewarding for him. He enjoyed selling tools and parts to farmers and companies, and delivering these products to the customers around the San Joaquin valley was sheer pleasure for Roger.
For those who know, singing was Roger's other passion He loved singing for the Lord in his most beautiful baritone voice. From singing in the Caruthers Baptist children's choir to the well-known gospel quartet, The Chordsmen, Roger's voice was an important part to the quality and praise lifted up to God. The Chordsmen toured at various churches in Fresno County for many years.
This great man will be missed. His kindness and generosity was unparalleled. The world was a better place because Roger was in it. Almighty God surely said, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Nancy Hinds Hospice or to the Alzheimer's Foundation in memory of Roger Bachar would be appreciated.
