Ruben was born in Brawley, Ca. to Rosario and Frances Gastelo. He moved to Corcoran / Hanford, Ca. where he met his wife Frances Moreno. He worked for many years at Fresno Housing Authorities then moved on to Del Monte Foods in Fresno, Ca.
Ruben is survived by his brothers, Vincent, John & Miguel Gastelo and sisters, Rosie McLean, Lupe Martinez and Socorro Rivera. Also his best friend Pichi Renteria.
His surviving children are Robert & Kathy Gastelo, Rebecca Gastelo, Barbara Gastelo, Terry & Jack Banda, Betty & Terry Fender. He is preceded in death by his Wife Frances Moreno Gastelo, his sons Lil Ruben & David Gastelo, daughter Janie Gastelo and Great Grandsons Joshy Perez and Ezekiel Gonzales
He is Papa Ruben to his 1st generation grandchildren; Carmen, Christina, Pastor Robert, Yvette, David Anthony, Rebecca, Judy, Robert, Ruben, Monico, Boy, Marlisa, Andrew, Michelle, Bobert, Augie, Kristi, Harley, Joseph, Jacqlin, Shayleen & Justin. He is also Papa to many many great grandchildren and a few great-great grandchildren. Ruben loved every one of his grandchildren and enjoyed the babies. He also loved his precious ~Lil Faye - Faithie~
He was a big Dodgers fan and would’ve been proud that they are in the 2020 World Series.
