Our beautiful and beloved mom has danced her way to heaven into the arms of our dad. Her life on earth was spectacular. She lived each and every day as a contact sport to be conquered and then enjoyed. Her energy was boundless, her vitality and grace world class.
Ruby was a product of Irish lineage, her family arriving on a sailing schooner in Boston to immediately begin the process of roots and hard work in Minnesota. She attended Murdock School, elementary on the bottom floor and high school on the top floor of a building meant to withstand the freezing cold; it became a hotel when it was too cold to let the children go home in the storms. It is there she developed those social skills that have defined her presence on this earth.
Ruby was a medical assistant for John Peckler MD for nearly 30 years. During her time there she supported and was a constant comfort for the patients that saw him. She loved the people she worked with and was a source of strength for her work family to this day.
She was the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Because she was so intuitive and connected to this world and her family, she was able to intervene and make life better. Her generosity was astounding with family vacations and gifts to people she did not know. She has a perpetual scholarship at the Fresno Police Academy as she understood the difficulties of being a police family.
Our family is well traveled thanks to mom; the vacations in the Caribbean are legend but Hawaii and destinations all over the world with dad including Ireland made her so happy. She gently made all of us better people.
She has set a course for this family we will eternally honor.
She was always so proud of her family, Dr. Buzz and Colleen Hibbard, Dr. Katherine and William Hickman, Steven and Kim McGinty; her grandchildren, Dawn and Brad Couchman, William Sean and Christie Hickman, Frank McGinty Loforti and Carah Loforti, Natalie and Ryan Petty and Anthony Loforti. The great grand's include William Cooper and Garret Couchman who she was teaching how to move Wall Street; William Chance and Noah Hickman and Bella Hickman. She is also survived by Ewan, Liam and Rowan Byrne Petty, Jack McGinty Loforti and Hayden Loforti.
