Stephen Eugene Wakefield

Steve was born on April 14, 1948 in Fresno. After a courageous battle with cancer he folded his earthly tent and left this world, at the age of 66, on July 27, 2014.

Steve attended Fresno High and graduated with the class of ’66. He continued his education at Fresno City College, received an AA degree in business and went on to Fresno State. He also served in the Army National Guard.

In 1974 Steve joined Ronald Bolt & Associates, Inc. and became CEO in 1986. He has been a member of the Central California Adjuster's Association, San Joaquin Valley Property Adjusters Forum, California Conference of Arson Investigators, Property Claims Association of the Pacific, California Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters (Of which he was state president in 2006) and a Registered Professional Adjuster since 1998.

Steve has been a member of the North Fresno Lions Club since 1971. He served as president in 1976 and again in 2004. Throughout the years he has been an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants.

Steve was predeceased by his grandparents: C.K. & Emma Wakefield, father: James Wakefield, mother: Leonie Rees and brother: Bob Wakefield. He is survived by his wife: Kathy Wakefield, son: Jeff Wakefield, brothers: Ron & Mike Wakefield and a long, cherished, list of family and friends.

The family wishes to thank Dexter Estrada, MD for his extraordinary care and compassion during Steve’s battle. Also a special thank you to Robert Lemon MD, the nurses and staff of Hematology-Oncology Group of Fresno. He greatly appreciated all the care he received.

Visitation will be held August 3, 2014 from 3:00 - 5:00pm at Stephens and Bean Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church August 4th, 2014 at 11:00am.

Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
