Tamara Lynn Flores, lovingly known as Tami, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 22, 2026, at the age of 66. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Tami is preceded in death by her father, Raul "Nene" Cruz, her grandmother Josephine Robles, and her longtime partner, Eddie Alcantar. She is survived by her three children, Monika Gonzalez and spouse Robert, Aurelio "AJ" Flores and spouse Danelia, and Raeann Flores and spouse Joseph; her grandchildren, Brycen, Bianca, Alyssa, Stella, Isla, Remi, and Ian; her mother, Marianna Nickel; her siblings Lisa Cruz-Avalos, Rayann Cruz-Martinez, Derek Cruz, and their spouses. Tami was also lovingly known as "Aunt Tami" to 12 nieces and nephews.
Tami was born in Fresno, California and attended Clovis High School. Later, she worked for Fresno Unified School District as an Instructional Aide in the Special Education department for 36 years and retired in 2017. Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed long drives to the countryside and coast, going to the casino, and camping. She also loved listening to Mexican music and spending time with her family and friends. You could always count on Tami having her nails, highlights, and lipstick on!
The legacy Tami leaves behind is one of love, strength, and family. Her infectious laugh and warm smile will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A funeral service for Tami will take place at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, located at 202 N Teilman Avenue, Fresno, California, on March 4, 2026, starting at 10:30 AM. A committal service will follow, taking place at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, located at 264 N Blythe Avenue, Fresno, CA, 93706. All who knew and loved Tami are welcomed to attend.
