She graduated from Fresno State University in 1954 and was a retired teacher at Burroughs Elementary School in Fresno.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Rivas; sisters Lilly Cripps and Elsie Montenegro; step-sons Peter Rivas and his wife, Leticia, Tony Rivas and Frank Rivas, Jr.; step-daughter Connie Rivas; and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 L Street, Fresno CA 93721, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at St. John's Cathedral, 2814 Mariposa St., Fresno CA 93721, at 9:00 a.m.
Burial at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 South Cornelia Avenue, Fresno CA 93706.
