Wallace was born in Phillipsburg, Missouri on March 16, 1931, to Freeda and Ferrel McFall. As a young boy, he moved to California with his parents and siblings. He attended Visalia Union High School and College of Sequoias in Visalia California, and Fresno State College in Fresno, California.
In 1950, Wallace married Caroline Nelson. Together they had six children, twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Wallace is survived by son, Glenn/Beth McFall; daughters, Kathleen/Joe Hushek, Kimberly/Ted Davis, Karolee McFall and Sue McFall. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Earleen McFall; son, Roger McFall; great granddaughter Immie Lynn Davis; sister, Dorothy Dunn; and brothers, Wayne McFall and Merle McFall.
Family, work ethic and education were Wallace’s first priorities. He taught his family to love and take care of one another, and he worked hard to provide for each family member. He worked multiple jobs to take care of his family, while attending college, playing football, and teaching school.
Wallace worked for Sun Empire in Kerman and Eastin Arcola in Madera as an elementary classroom teacher, principal and superintendent for 34 years. He loved the students and worked tirelessly to improve their educational experiences. He is commemorated with a brick on the Teachers and Friends of Education Honor Wall at Fresno State.
Wallace had many hobbies and passions. He enjoyed sailing, camping, traveling to Alaska and other parts of the USA. During his free time, he restored antique Fords and enjoyed driving the grandkids in them. At the age of 50, Dad started a new hobby - almond farming. He worked the 12-acre farm for 40 years. His profits helped provide his grandkids with a college education.
He liked to watch his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren excel in extracurricular activities. He continued to learn about new sports such as rugby, soccer, water polo, diving, and swimming. He also learned to enjoy his grandchildren and great grandchildren perform in school plays and recitals.
Everyone who met Wally McFall knew of his sense of humor and his love of teasing.
