I first met Wanda when she was about 3 years old when my mother married her Uncle Bert. Mother (Mary) and Bert had been high school sweethearts , but Mother had other plans for her life than being a farmer's wife. Many years later, after my father died, Mother and Bert rekindled their romance and married, moving my family of four girls, to the farm in South Dakota. Wanda, her sister, Pam, and her parents came to visit shortly after the wedding and our relocation. I was a 12-year old preteen, not particularly interested in these cute, little girls, who wanted to listen to our teen records. Wanda accidently broke one of our favorite ones, I remember, and I had a hard time forgiving her. Another time I remember was when we visited in California, just before Leslie was born when my daughter Amy was a baby and we compared pregnancies. Since we lived so far apart, we were never very close, but I fondly remember the good times we did share. May she rest in peace.
