

William “Bill” Stanley Haar was born in Kerman, CA on August 6, 1927, the eldest son of 12 children. Bill passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at the age of 86. Bill enlisted in the Navy at 17 and served until the end World War II before coming home to marry his sweetheart Yvonne Bishop. He worked in numerous occupations but was best known for his restaurant, Der Family Beerock Haus. His favorite activity was cooking for his family and friends, especially German food and beerocks. Bill and Yvonne spent many years in Fresno but were able to fulfill their dream of living at the coast by moving to Los Osos in 2000. They moved back to Clovis in 2012.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Yvonne of 67 years, daughters Karen Jones and husband Robert and Trudi Dayton. Grandchildren Robert Jones and wife Jennifer, Michelle Dunkel and husband Brian, Kevin Dayton and wife Suzy, great-grandchildren Kevin and Emily Dayton. He is also survived by 6 siblings; Elvera Ward, Betty Baptista, Roberta Knudsen, Nancy Toste, Marge Rose, and Tom Haar.
