

Wilson Earl Dyer III (Bill) passed from our world on January 5, 2015. He is a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the Army 1st Cavalry, Airmobile 1st of the 7th, Delta Company, 1968 to 1970, remaining available for service until 1974, and receiving an honorable discharge.
Wilson was born in Springfield, Missouri January 21, 1947. He came to Pomona, California with his mother, a widow, when he was 8 years old. During his young life, he returned alone to Missouri every summer to spend time with his family.
His earliest jobs in So.Calif. included welding for Kaiser Steel, and Lockeed Martin. Other occupations in So Cal included telephone installion, phone repair, and pay phone removal. He installed pay phones for the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 1984. He also worked as a carpenter remodeling crafstman style homes, particularly in the Claremont Village area.
Wilson moved to Fresno, CA in 1989, becoming a truck driver for Allen A. Adams Trucking. He worked for this company for 21 years. The first ten years as a long haul driver and the remaining years in the office as dispatcher.
His favorite days were spent with his friends at the veterans association. But, his happiest moments were with his family: Barbara, his wife of nearly 30 years, his son Jedidiah Dyer, currently serving in the U.S. Navy, his stepson Eric Dietrich giving him the happiness of two grandchildren. He is also survived by a daughter and four grandchildren.
Inurnment services, with Military Honors, will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Road Gustine, CA 95322, at 1:30pm
