Rebecca Joan Branan, age 79, of Frisco, Texas passed away on Friday January 10, 2020. Rebecca was born May 30, 1940 to Miriam M. (Bair) Mason and Richard D. Mason. Rebecca AKA "Becky", "Beck", or "Shorty" as her father called her, was born in a small central Indiana town, grew up in Indianapolis, IN. Becky was the oldest of three, Brother Jim Mason and Brother Steve Mason.
Becky graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1958 and graduated from Mercer University. Becky married Tom Branan in 1977 in Indianapolis and had one son Scott Branan and one step-son Brad Branan. Becky was a very loving daughter, spouse, sibling and family member. She frequently coordinated family gatherings, vacations, etc. She was a talented writer, painter and quilter. She also enjoyed cooking, spoiling grandkids, nieces and nephews. Becky's favorite places to be were Lake Oconee, GA, Naples, FL, any family events holidays, birthdays, the kids' school or sporting events. Becky was very active in her church communities at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church in Georgia and Trinity Presbyterian in Plano. Becky enjoyed hosting a small group Scripture Study of about 16 people in her Texas home. Becky also was very active in community volunteer work during her time in Georgia. Becky successfully worked in public relations for 15 years and marketing-public relations for 15 years. Becky's strong Christian beliefs and generous nature were admired by all who knew her.
Rebecca is survived by her husband, Tom Branan; son Scott Branan (Tricia); and step-son Brad Branan; brother Jim Mason (Donna) and brother Steve Mason (Jen); grandchild Richard Branan, grandchild Brett Branan, grandchild Falon DuBose Torp, niece Cindy Himes, niece Christy Linn and nephew Bill Mason.
Rebecca was preceded in death by; father Richard D. Mason and mother Miriam M. (Bair) Mason; very special aunt Jane Fallis, and nephew Christopher Mason.
