Pete was born on July 17, 1934 in Little Elm, Texas to Edgar Eugene Clark and Willie Mabel Clark. He graduated from Frisco High School in 1951 and went on to honorably serve our country in the United States Navy from 1954-1958. Pete married Evelyn (Tisser) Louise Mays in 1962 and together they had two children, Granville and Geri.
He worked for DFW Airport for over 30 years, retiring in 1997. Several years later he found himself semi-retired and working at Frisco High School and Lone Star High School, eventually retiring in 2013. He truly enjoyed work each day as he got to know so many of the students.
Pete loved his family, friends and community. He served as a volunteer fire fighter in Frisco, Texas for many years. In commemoration to his service, his portrait may be found etched into the exterior of Fire Station #5. His free time was spent at the golf course, almost any Frisco ISD sporting event, Le Peep Restaurant and his grandchildren’s activities.
Pete is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn (Tisser) Clark, son Granville Dane Clark(Cody), daughter, Geri Jean Zanetell(Scott). He is “Poppies” to 2 grandchildren, Kayce Lyn Zanetell and Grant Thomas Zanetell, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, brothers- in law and sisters-in-laws.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 7 from 5-7pm at Stonebriar Funeral Home in Frisco, Texas.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Prairie Estates and Elysian Hospice who showed such genuine concern for Pete’s comfort and well-being during his time there.
