Gary Lee Williams, husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 46. Born on July 4, 1978, in Paterson, New Jersey, Gary was a bright light to all who knew him—his life marked by service, love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
A proud graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Gary served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army. While at West Point, Gary was a member of the Army football team. While serving, he deployed twice. After his military service, Gary transitioned to civilian life, most recently living in Prosper, Texas. He began his career at Pfizer as a pharmaceutical sales representative. He later channeled his entrepreneurial spirit and countless strong relationships into his own successful business.
Gary was an ardent fan of Army and Kansas State football. As such, fall Saturdays were sacred—filled with tailgates, beverages, and the love of the game. One of his greatest joys was attending the Army Navy football game with his family and reconnecting with his West Point brotherhood.
He was the dedicated husband of Lisa Williams and the proud father of Sydney and Whitney. He shared a special bond with each of them: he and Sydney (his mini-me) shared a playful banter. With Whitney, he was the ultimate "volleyball dad" and her loudest, proudest cheerleader. Gary loved traveling with Lisa, creating memories full of laughter.
He was the cherished son of Lillie Williams and the late David Williams, Sr. He is survived by his siblings—Sherry, Myreon, and David Jr.— and by his in-laws, Dave and Julie Parks, sister-in-law Lori Jester (Richard Jester) and several nieces. Gary is also survived by the Army Brotherhood, a bond forged in service, strengthened through shared experiences, and held close throughout his life. His friendships were sacred—each one valued and nurtured with sincerity and generosity.
Gary had an infectious laugh, usually involving his head thrown back while wearing a gigantic smile. The laugh was his trademark to all those who knew him. He will be profoundly missed and remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Prosper United Methodist Church in Prosper, Texas, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to help support Lisa and the Girls to support the girls’ future education be made to https://angelink.com/fundraiser-public/3bddb8df-7ea2-4b69-aea4-c97356e18bb5
