John Luke Sakella, born in a small mining town in Mahanoy City, PA. He had a dream to go back and revitalize the area. He lived life for people, he told us “not to get attached to things”. He enjoyed boating; he even started to build one, but we moved. He liked to go on fishing trips with our brother, Greg. Laughing was easy he enjoyed the company of family and friends.
Our Dad, continued to learn/study and travel through his lifetime. He was an innovator, and problem solver; he took pride in his accomplishments in the Air Force and then as an Electrical Engineer.
His legacy is in things he designed and built that I am not even aware of – ideas that helped the Air Force, businesses he worked in and him. He had a pacemaker that was built by the last company he worked at.
Our dad always took care of his family, he loved us in his own way, made sure we had a good education and he wanted us to be independent. We are honored that our dad was in the Air Force – he was someone to look up to and we had the opportunity to live/visit places that we might not otherwise had. We are thankful for the memories we have from being his family.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.stonebriarfh.com for the Sakella family.
