Joseph William Magnusson, 74, of Flower Mound, Texas, went to be with Jesus on February 7, 2021. Joe was born on October 30, 1946 and served in the United States Navy as an electrical engineer aboard ship during the Vietnam War. As a Veteran, he was a very patriotic man who proudly displayed the American Flag throughout his home.
Joe grew up with seven sisters and a brother and was a born again Christian who attended Countryside Bible Church in Southlake Texas with his wife of 44 years Carol Magnusson. Joe was “Super Dad” to daughters, Sara Thomas & husband Scott and Laurie Cuchens & husband Billy. His greatest joy was as a Pop-Pop to Samantha, Seth, and Sela Thomas and Grandpa to Isaac, Vivianna, Jayden, & Jasmine Cuchens.
Joe made his living as a Computer Programmer until his retirement. He was a NASA enthusiast who loved to keep up with the launches and astronauts in orbit. Joe loved all things electronic and could fix anything! He enjoyed his Ham Radio Operators group, Star Trek re-runs and was one of the first to own an electric car.
He will be laid to rest with Military Honors at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on February 26, 2021. He will be greatly missed, but he was very ready to receive his Lord and his family knows his soul lives on in Heaven for Eternity. “Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your confession in the presence of many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12
A Celebration of Life reception will be held in his honor at a later time.
The family would be overjoyed if you would please leave a message with memories & pictures of him on this Memorial site through the "Share a Memory" link below. These will be printed in keepsake books for his wife and daughters.
