Kenneth John Bujnowski of Frisco, Texas passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2021 of a heart attack. Ken was born on September 21, 1948 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Joseph Thomas Bujnowski and Margaret Ruth Kanya. An only child, he was raised by his single mother and her parents, John Kanya and Mary Rapczynski.
Always a religious person, Ken had planned to enter the ministry as a Catholic priest after graduating from Holy Innocents high school. However due to the Vietnam war, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1967 at the age of 17. He became a radar operator and was stationed in Iceland, California, and then the Philippines.
While in California, he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When he was in the Philippines, he met his future wife, Narcisa Viernes Tejada, at a Church single adults activity. They were married on August 30, 1969 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They celebrated 50 years together in 2019.
Ken received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in History while working in the aviation industry. In 2014, he retired from Boeing after 23 years and moved from the Seattle area to Frisco, Texas to be near his oldest son and his family.
Ken and Narcisa served together as temple workers in the Seattle and Dallas Temples for over 20 years. After retirement, Ken continued to serve in the Dallas Temple. He also followed his passion for golf, coercing anyone he knew to golf with him.
Ken had a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit. He could make anyone laugh. He was also deeply spiritual. He had a firm testimony of Jesus Christ and a tremendous ability to learn and teach gospel principles. He died firm in the faith of Christ. He had a pure love for his family and loved his little dog Rachel dearly.
Ken is survived by his children, Aaron Mark Bujnowski (Julie Patrice), John Kenneth Bujnowski (Aunna Mary), and Anne Kim Hartshorn, and his grandchildren, Breanna Lauren Argyle (Tanner McKay), Liam Jett Bujnowski, Caitlin Elizabeth Bujnowski, Corbin John Bujnowski, and Clara Marie Bujnowski.
