Nancy J. Sloan

Mrs. Nancy June Sloan passed from this life on to her eternal home, with her children at her side, on April 18, 2018 in Plano, TX. Nancy was born on June 13, 1933 to her parents, the late Mr. Willie J. and the late Mrs. Clara M. Beck (nee Day) in Littlefield, and reared in Bryson, TX. Nancy was the eldest of two children, sharing her childhood memories and adventures with her younger brother, the late Mr. Joe Quinton Beck. She graduated from Bryson High School and attended the University of North Texas.

In July of 1951, Nancy married the love of her life, the late Mr. Harry L. “Cherokee” Sloan; sharing 52 years of loving happiness. They were blessed with five children; Robin, Joe, Cody, Kelly, and Ragan; and eight grandchildren, which were her greatest joy. She was a devoted Christian, and member of the Golf Course Road Church of Christ. She enjoyed dancing, painting, golfing, and singing; and especially loved any type of music, old movies, and the comfort of her home. Nancy was a dedicated wife and wonderful mother, and will forever be remembered as a loving pillar of her family.

In addition to her parents, first husband, and brother, Nancy was preceded in death by her second husband, Mr. J. O. Pete Garrett. Left to cherish Nancy’s life, memories, and legacy are her children, Mrs. Robin Bock and her husband, Dan, of Ft. Worth, TX; Mr. Joe Sloan and his wife, Deborah, of Plano, TX, Mr. Cody Sloan of Midland, TX, Mr. Kelly Sloan of Midland, TX, and Mrs. Ragan Davis and her husband, Brian, of Flower Mound, TX; her grandchildren, Dr. Andrew Sloan, Alexis Sloan, Clayton Sloan, Dylon Sloan, Cole Sloan, Brady Sloan, Sloan Davis, and Holt Davis; and her special friend, Mr. Larry Ainsworth.

A memorial celebration will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25th at Stonebriar Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 10375 Preston Rd., Frisco, TX 75033; followed by interment at the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
